How long do I have to make payment?
We expect you to make payment within 3 working days of the end of the auction. We reserve the right to relist the stock if payment is not received within this timescale.
After winning you must transfer your winning bid amount inclusive of 17.5% VAT into the Argos bank account. (The Argos account details will be included on the winning bid email notification we send to you). Payment must be made within 3 working days of the auction ending.
The payment transfer can be done through a number of different routes e.g. direct, BAC's or telegraphic transfer; alternatively you can take cash into the bank and request the transfer over the counter. Please contact your bank to work out the easiest way to transfer the payment for your winning bid.
Once you have transferred the payment it’s very important that you then promptly email argosclearance@argos.co.uk the full details of the payment transfer.
This email must include:
The auction number, payment amount; date of transfer; expected arrival date of transfer; bank account name; bank account number; contact name; contact number and address
This will enable us to track the transaction and confirm arrival of payment.
Once the payment transfer has cleared Argos Clearance will reply to your email confirming the arrival of the bank transfer and details of how and where you can collect your merchandise.
Argos finance department will send a VAT invoice direct to your registered address in line with our standard accounting timelines.
To collect goods please follow the instructions detailed in the confirmation email to book a collection date and time. On the day of collection please ensure that the driver has ID and the unique collection authorisation number that we will issue when agreeing the collection booking.
A delivery note will be presented on collection, which details all the items within each pallet.
Are all bids exclusive of VAT?
Yes all bids and final prices are exclusive of VAT. You will have to add VAT at 17.5% when you make payment on any winning bids.
How long do I have to arrange collection after payment has been made?
We expect collection to be arranged within 5 working days after your payment has been received. Any goods not collected within this time will become subject to charges for storage at the rate of £1 per pallet per day, unless agreed in writing in advance with a representative of Home Retail Group.
How do I collect my purchased lot?
Once the payment transaction has been approved Argos Clearance will send an email confirming the arrival of the payment, a collection authorisation number and details of who to contact to arrange a collection booking. Collection will be always be from an Argos Distribution centre, most commonly in the West Midlands unless otherwise stated in the auction listing.
What size vehicle is required to collect merchandise?
26 Pallets require a minimum of a 40 ft curtain sided vehicle for loading.
16 Pallets (usually bulk pallets - 1.8m in length with overhang) require a minimum of a 40ft curtain sided vehicle.
5 – 10 Pallet loads require a minimum 7.5 tonne curtain sided vehicle.
Please note we cannot accommodate double stacking of pallets onto any vehicles.
You or your representative must ensure that the vehicle used to collect merchandise set out in the Argos collection note is capable of loading all of the merchandise in one collection.
Please note that due to weight restrictions there is the possibility that your vehicle may not be completely filled when collecting loose loaded stock.
Please note no breakdown of pallets on Argos premises will be permitted.
All vehicles will be loaded using forklifts and all vehicles must be able to accommodate this loading on site.
